Astronomy Education

I began my astronomy outreach to schools in 1998 when my children attended Park Ridge Elementary School in Stafford, VA. Although my children no longer attend Park Ridge, I receive an annual invitation from the teachers at Park Ridge to provide astronomy and space program outreach to several classes every year.

Continuing the tradition of astronomy and space program outreach to schools has enabled me to develop an informative presentation aimed towards elementary and middle school ages, but my program can be modified for all grades including high school. My presentation includes an actual meteorite to see and hold. In addition, I include outreach materials if I have them available.

Since April 2007, I have authored a monthly astronomy column for the Free Lance-Star newspaper. In addition, I am RAC's Solar System Ambassador, a volunteer program sponsored by NASA/JPL. You can read my bio on the NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador web site.
